Compassion Cultivation Training – Developed at Stanford University’s Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education (CCARE)

When faced with difficulty and stress, we can meet life with steadiness and respond from a place of courage and resilience. Stress and struggle are a natural part of life. As long as we’re human we’ll experience suffering, whether it’s chronic stress at work, or enormous grief with the sudden loss of a loved one. Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT) was developed to uncover the capacity of individuals to move through life and its challenges with a steadier mind and heart, from a place of greater awareness, connection, and inner strength.

What does Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT) look like?

CCT is an 8-week course, including:

* Weekly 2-hour class, with lectures, discussions and in-class interactive exercises
* Daily meditation practices that progress from week to week
* Homework to help move new practices into long term habits

What shifts can I expect?

While everyone will have their own unique experience, research has shown CCT can lead to: Increased: Happiness, Calmness, Acceptance of emotions, Self-acceptance, Job satisfaction, Self-caring behavior, Compassion for self and others, Openness to receiving compassion from others. And Decreased: Worry, Anxiety, Anger, Mind wandering, Emotional suppression, Reports of chronic pain severity.
