DESCRIPTION:How to Practice at a Time Like This: An Online Urban Retreat \nwith Narayan Liebenson \nSaturday\, December 12th\, 2020 | 9:00am – 6:00pm ET\nSunday\, December 13th\, 2020 | 9:00am – 3:00pm ET \nThe teachings and practices of the Buddha are said to be timeless. And\, the period of time we are in right now is particularly clearly turbulent and complex. How can the teachings of loving-attention\, wisdom\, and compassion be relevant in our daily lives at this particular time? How can we place these timeless teachings within the context of our everyday lives? \nDuring these two days of engaging in the ancient forms of sitting and walking\, we will also address various aspects of our everyday lives such as sleeping\, eating\, relaxing body and mind\, wise view\, and wise relationship to the current events. \nSuitable for both beginners and experienced practitioners\, each retreat day will include sitting meditation\, talks\, and questions/responses. All are most welcome to join. \nThe weekend’s practice schedule will be: \nSaturday:\nFirst Session: 9:00am-11:00am\nSecond Session: 1:00pm-3:00pm\nThird Session: 4:00pm-6:00pm \nSunday:\nFirst Session: 9:00am-11:00am\nSecond Session: 1:00pm-3:00pm \nThere will be specific instructions for how to practice between the formal meditation periods. \nThis program is made possible with major support from the Laura S. Rodgers Fund of the Community Foundation of New Jersey. \nRegistration:\nPlease register at the highest level that your generosity offers.\nExplanations of levels follow below.\nIf you are registering via a mobile devices such as a phone or tablet\, you can scroll right and left and up and down within the form if it is partially obscured or cut off. Please contact registration@nyimc.org if you need assistance. \nPlease note: We are temporarily unable to provide registration confirmation emails. However the link to access the program will be emailed to you 2 days prior to the event and again 1 hour before the start.\n \n \nRegistration Fees\nNew York Insight Meditation Center has streamlined the registration fee levels.
