That’s Life: Embracing Change with Courage & Awareness

with Brian Simmons

Sunday, December 8th, 2019 | 10:00am – 5:00pm

In the newest That’s Life workshop series addressing how to apply our meditation practice to working with life’s unexpected events, Brain Simmons explores how we can build our courage and awareness to embrace change.

Embracing change is a moment-to-moment challenge on the path to peace and happiness. In order to rise to the confusing and often gut-wrenching challenges life presents before us, our meditation practice requires honesty and courage. It also requires persistence and reinforcement to continue to develop the skills of wisdom and awareness that sway the forces inside our control and allow us to surrender to the ones outside of our control. It is the essence of self-mastery.

This daylong workshop will provide a practical roadmap for those newly thrust into a major life transition (or those who are about to be). If you are facing a major life transition: career changes, graduation, relationship endings and beginnings, illness, children leaving the nest, going back to school, retiring, aging, the full catastrophe… this daylong is for YOU!

Brian Simmons teaches a set of Daylongs and courses on how to navigate changes and transitions in life. He draws from both classical Buddhist practices and Non-Buddhist techniques from a variety of sources. His set of teachings on this topic can be taken in any order as he teaches meditation students a set of complementary skills of wisdom and awareness. Meditation practitioners of all levels are welcome.
