In-Person and Online: Transforming Confusion Into Wisdom – Buddhist Tantra & The 5 Wisdom Energies

with David Nichtern

Sunday, June 1st, 2025 | 10:00am – 5:00pm ET

In-Person Location: New York Insight at 115 West 29th Street, 12th Floor

Join renowned, multiple Emmy-winning and Grammy-nominated musician, meditation teacher, and author David Nichtern for a transformative daylong workshop on Buddhist Tantra.

These powerful teachings are designed to transmute confusion and mental afflictions into wisdom. Through the lens of tantra, we learn to engage directly with the raw energies of our emotions—anger, desire, fear—and transform them into sources of insight, compassion, and clarity.

At the heart of tantric practice are the teachings known as the Five Wisdom Energies, which embody the enlightened qualities that arise when we skillfully navigate and integrate our emotional experiences.

These teachings describe how our emotional and psychological patterns—when met with awareness—can reveal deep, awakened qualities of the mind. Each energy has both positive and counter-productive qualities, and seeing and understanding them helps us recognize that our messy, emotional lives are not obstacles to awakening—they’re actually part of the path.

Whether you’re new to meditation or a longtime practitioner, everyone is welcome to join us.
The day will feature meditation instruction and practice, lectures, and plenty of time for discussion.
